Create a New Wallet

Learn how to create your first Zelcore wallet and secure your crypto assets.

Before You Start​

Creating a new wallet will generate a unique seed phrase (recovery phrase) that serves as the master key to your wallet. This phrase is crucial for:

  • Recovering your wallet if you lose access to your device
  • Importing your wallet on another device
  • Restoring your assets
Important Security Notice

Never share your seed phrase with anyone! Zelcore will never ask for your seed phrase. Anyone with access to your seed phrase has full control of your funds.

Step-by-Step Guide​

1. Launch Zelcore​

Open the Zelcore application on your device (desktop, mobile, or browser extension).

2. Select "Create New Wallet"​

On the welcome screen, choose the "Create New Wallet" option.

3. Choose Authentication Method​

Select your preferred security method:

  • Biometric (if available): Use Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint
  • PIN Code: Set a numeric PIN for quick access
  • Password: Create a strong alphanumeric password
Recommendation

For mobile devices, biometric authentication provides the best balance of security and convenience.

4. Write Down Your Seed Phrase​

Zelcore will generate a 12-word seed phrase.

Important steps:

  1. Write down all 12 words in the exact order on paper
  2. Store the paper in a secure location (safe, vault, etc.)
  3. Consider making multiple copies stored in different secure locations
  4. Never store your seed phrase digitally (screenshots, cloud storage, etc.)

If you lose your seed phrase, you will permanently lose access to your wallet if your device is lost or damaged. There is no way to recover it.

5. Verify Your Seed Phrase​

To ensure you've written it down correctly, Zelcore will ask you to verify by selecting words in the correct order.

Zelcore offers d2FA (decentralized two-factor authentication) for additional security:

  1. Enable d2FA in settings
  2. Follow the prompts to set it up
  3. Authentication keys are distributed across decentralized nodes

7. Wallet Created Successfully!​

Your wallet is now ready to use. You can:

  • Receive crypto by sharing your wallet addresses
  • Add assets to track in your portfolio
  • Connect hardware wallets for added security

Best Practices for Wallet Security​

Seed Phrase Security​

  • ✅ Write it on paper and store securely offline
  • ✅ Create multiple copies in different secure locations
  • ✅ Consider using metal seed phrase storage for fire/water protection
  • ❌ Never share with anyone
  • ❌ Never store digitally or in cloud services
  • ❌ Never take screenshots

Device Security​

  • Enable biometric authentication if available
  • Use a strong, unique password
  • Keep your device's operating system updated
  • Enable device encryption
  • Use trusted networks (avoid public WiFi for transactions)

Enable Additional Security Features​

  • Set up d2FA for transaction verification
  • Use address whitelisting for frequent recipients
  • Enable transaction confirmations
  • Consider connecting a hardware wallet (Ledger or Trezor)

Troubleshooting​

I didn't write down my seed phrase​

Go to Settings → Security → Show Seed Phrase (requires authentication). Write it down immediately.

I want to create multiple wallets​

Zelcore supports multiple wallet profiles. Go to Settings → Wallets → Add New Wallet.
